Abstract

The paper presents the results of an investigation into the reprocessing procedure of hypotexts in picture books by Anthony Browne. His work is grouped into three progressive levels, depending on the degree of metafictional complexity involved in reading reception, and we analyse some keys to his modus operandi in the intertextual network of production, based on construction and deconstruction practises used in the illustration.
