Abstract

This experience was carried out in adult education centres for basic training and illiterates. The characteristics of students (60-year-old women, lower-middle socioeconomic level, from an agricultural area and small towns) make it difficult to adapt a teaching-learning process to them which, at the same time will provide significant benefits in the development of their knowledge. Acquisition of knowledge by

means of this methodology is more satisfactory than with other methods and students are more motivated because they learn to investigate through the scientific method and reach meaningful learning through their own discovery, using this basic instrumental competence.
