Abstract

The absence of approved ideas which integrate society into a common project has converted this end of century into a very peculiar period of time in which education is called on to fulfil a fundamental role for the elaboration of policies, strategies and actions based on contextualized human development. This requires a more open conception of education for a personal transformation in a world which is also in the process of transformation. A great challenge is given to actual education in preparation for the third millennium: to generate and organize the best conditions and opportunities so that everybody has possibilities to fulfil potentials for growing, creating, planning and promoting for self wellbeing and that of the communities to which he/she belongs.
