Abstract

In the European Union we are witnessing a complex reality. On the one hand, there is an enormous cultural diversity brought on by the immigrants that come from beyond our borders and, on the other one, there is a rich idiosyncratic mosaic because of the communities that integrate our continent. Given this heterogeneity among the European countries, it is not surprising that the school measures of support destined to the immigrant group change depending on each state. In the present article we are going to circumscribe to five European countries that rely on an important group of immigrant population, with different idiosyncrasies and that use social and political strategies which are well distinguished among themselves: Germany, France, England, Sweden and Spain.
