Abstract

In this study we try to connect the use of drama in the classroom with the anthropological concept of homo ludens exposed by Johan Huizinga in his classic essay of 1938. The Dutch author defends that humans naturally tend to engage in games. For this reason, human beings have created not only the rules to play games, but also the laws and the basic norms to organize culture and coexistence. The desire to play is also present in any activity related to drama, especially in younger ages, providing various social functions and learning strategies within a fictional context, all from the basis of games.
