Abstract

By tutor we mean the teacher to whom a group of pupils is assigned and with whom a compromise is acquired to promote a personalized and complete education, through coordination of the tutorial. This figure may be interpreted in a different way, from that of a mentality of assistance based on personal interventions as opposed to when it is carried out with a transforming mentality based on environmental and institutional action. The actions outlined in that definition will be doomed to failure if they are carried out in a centre where what exists are “subdivisions”, whereas a different sense and efficiency will be acquired if they are carried out in a centre that is constituted as a true community of learning. Many of the learning and coexistence problems that are found in our centres cannot be solved if they are treated as individual cases, if they are approached on the personal level.
