Alabama is not only a state in America but also a battleship of the Confederated States of America. In the commonly considered first inter-State arbitration case, the United Kingdom had to pay a compensation for breaching its neutrality in the American civil war. Nevertheless, there had been some previous precedents. Three of them decided by the Senate of Hamburg, both the way to select the arbitrator and place of arbitration. Any place can be a good place of arbitration.
