About the Journal
Focus and scope
Microtextualidades. Short Short Story and Flash Fiction International Journal is an online journal of biannual periodicity that publishes scientific collaborations of national and foreign specialists about flash fiction and microfiction. It aims to contribute to the progress of scientific knowledge in the field of philological studies (Literature, History of Literature, Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, Literary Criticism, Rhetoric and Poetics: studies of authors and works; Linguistics, Cultural Studies; Digital Humanities, etc.) and of communication from diverse perspectives. The journal accepts scientific papers, written in Spanish or English, that are the result of original and unpublished research, that are not being considered by other journals and have not been published or will be published in another publication, regardless of the language in which it is edited, both partially and completely. Likewise, the journal will take into account the topicality and interest of the topics addressed and will adopt a code of good practices to ensure compliance with the guidelines established by the reference scientific publications in the dissemination of research and the quality standards of Scientific Publications. The research papers presented can combine theoretical approaches with practical analysis and intertwine theoretical-literary and rhetorical-communicative approaches with the projection of results to the analysis and interpretation of a fixed corpus. The journal is open to the international scientific community.
Peer Evaluation Process
Editorial review
The originals received are valued by one or two members of the editorial team of the journal, who, after carrying out an editorial review of the manuscripts received, must decide on the adequacy of the thematic line and verify compliance with the quality criteria of the journal for the submission of manuscripts and the rules set for the presentation of originals. Later, the decision adopted will be communicated to the authors in order to proceed to the phase of scientific arbitration and peer review.
The editors will ensure the anonymity of the collaborations received before they are sent to the external evaluators. The editorial team reserves the right to reject the contributions received, without resorting to the external consultation process, either because they do not conform to the editorial line of the journal or because they are inappropriate due to lack of quality or lack of adaptation to the scientific objectives of the journal or because of evidence of scientific fraud.
The interval between receipt and final acceptance of the reviewed article will be less than 120 days.
Peer Evaluation Process
All articles, studies and monographs, without the name of the author, will be submitted to the anonymous evaluation of two specialists external to the journal's publishing entity with the objective of guaranteeing impartiality and scientific quality. The evaluation will be by the double-blind peer review system, maintaining the anonymity of those who have done the work and the evaluation.
The reports must reason their opinion on the quality of the work with regard to its relevance, originality, methodology and clarity of exposure.
In case of disagreement and discrepancy between the two evaluators, the editors will proceed to request a third report. On these opinions, the editorial team will decide to reject, accept or request modifications to the authors and will communicate the editorial decision through a motivated notification, which includes the reasons for the acceptance, revision or rejection of the manuscript in its relevance, originality and clarity, as well as the opinions issued by external experts.
Frequency of publication
The journal is open to receiving articles all year.
We indicate the maximum times to guarantee the publication in the nearest number. The deadlines open on January 1 and July 1 and close on May 1 and November 1, respectively; the collaborations received after those dates could be included in a later issue.
Interviews and reviews will be accepted until June 30 and November 30.
