The use of the aphorism in Voltaire’s correspondence

Voltaire is one of the most recognized philosophes of the French Enlightenment, famous for his social and political vocation in the fight against religious intolerance and fanaticism; he is considered one of the first philosophers who will exert an important influence on public opinion. In this article we will analyze the link between aphorism and philosophy, taking as a case study its use by Voltaire, based on extracts from his works, and especially, from his correspondence.
