Alegorías de lo femenino en la narrativa breve e hiperbreve de Patricia Esteban Erlés

Abstract

Reflection on the enigma of femininity, understood as the cultural and historical idea of what it means to be a woman, is an essential element in the work of Patricia Esteban Erlés. In her narratives, this preoccupation creates thematic nuclei such as the representation of corporeality, social positioning or the rejection of certain normative discourses. Starting from the symbolic structure of Casa de muñecas (Doll’s House), whose micro-stories offer a compendium of different female paradigms, the aim of this paper is to analyse the construction of female subjectivity in the author's short and hyper-brief texts. To this end, it will consider aspects such as cultural allusions, intertextuality, aesthetics, ideological subtext, language and recurring motifs that contribute to visualising the diverse allegories of the feminine found in Esteban Erlés' work.
