Abstract

Communication, Information and Technologies. Approaches and Applications, edited by Marco Tulio Flores Mayorga, Francisco Cabezuelo Lorenzo, and César Omar Mora Pérez, represents a solid and timely contribution to contemporary studies on strategic communication, advertising, digital technologies, and information policies in the Ibero-American context. The volume brings together eight chapters written by researchers from Mexico, Spain, and other Ibero-American countries, offering a broad and rigorous overview of the main challenges currently facing public communication in societies deeply shaped by digitalization, disinformation, and the reconfiguration of media ecosystems resulting from the emergence of artificial intelligence–based tools.

Author Biography

  • Javier García López, University of Murcia

    Javier García López holds a Ph.D. in Communication. He has a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations and a master’s degree in Philosophical Criticism and Argumentation. He is a specialist in epistemology and gnoseology, as well as in institutional and corporate communication. He is currently a tenured professor at the University of Murcia. He has taught at the Distance University of Madrid (2010–2017) and at San Jorge University (2008–2009). He has completed two six-year research terms. He has published articles in indexed journals (Scopus, WOS, CIRC, Dialnet, IN-Recs, Latindex, DICE, MIAR). He is the author of numerous book chapters published by prestigious publishers, as well as several scientific monographs and two textbooks. He has participated in more than 40 national and international conferences, presenting research findings on the analysis of advertising and public relations and their relationship to social and environmental issues, as well as on the social effects of media discourse. He has served on various scientific committees and as a reviewer for indexed journals (WOS and Scopus) and for various international conferences. He has participated in several funded research projects and has served as a member of thesis committees for doctoral dissertations, master’s theses, and bachelor’s theses.
