This monograph examines how disinformation constitutes a critical challenge for contemporary democracies today, within a digital ecosystem where traditional media, social networks, and the emerging challenges of Artificial Intelligence converge. This work addresses information disorders from a multidisciplinary perspective—journalistic, legal, and sociological—dissecting its impact on spheres ranging from politics to science. Through the collaboration of academics and industry professionals, the book not only diagnoses the rise of hate speech and conspiracy theories but also proposes concrete solutions, evaluating both European regulatory frameworks and the vital role of fact-checking agencies.
