Nation and Nationalism: The basque case nowadays

The basic thesis of this study says that the nationalism it is a phenomenon, which exists in plural as nationalisms. In the first part it is offered a proposal of conceptual clarification in order to specify, that which defines it, and following, to explore its various versions. Such versions are then faced to its moral assessment, as well as to the problematic possibility of its overcoming in the post-nationalism. In the second part, having the precedent clarifications as background, it is made a study of the several expressions of the present Basque nationalism, with its coincidences and disagreements. They are specially analyzed the ethnic and violent references, as well as the degree in which it assumes the circumstances of complexity of de Basque society in which it is settled.
