Development of multi-user virtual reality communication and collaboration spaces for e-learning platforms. Case study: Obicex foundation
Abstract
The central objective of the thesis is to discover and examine the impact, if any, of the use of an online multi-user virtual reality campus in the context of its application to higher education studies, through the “case study” of the virtual reality campus platform of the Obicex Foundation. Qualitative data were collected through focus groups, as well as three quantitative studies, one in the form of a survey, and two statistical analyses of a series of quality parameters of the work carried out by students in the second academic year of the Higher Degree training cycle 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments, professional profile Virtual Worlds, Augmented Reality and Gamification. The quantitative analysis validates the hypothesis that the use of a multi-user virtual reality platform enhances the online training process with a statistically significant degree of confidence.
