“Información y censura en la guerra de la independencia cubana (1895-1898)”.
Abstract
El 24 de febrero de 1895 comenzó la Guerra de la Independencia cubana que se prolongó hasta 1898 con la intervención de Estados Unidos. En el periodo en que se desarrolló este conflicto la acción contra la prensa estaba perfectamente organizada en torno a un cuerpo legislativo sólido de apariencia liberal pero con una clara intención de control. El ejercicio de la censura, por parte del gobierno, fue continua con numerosas causas abiertas que acabaron en consejos de guerra, cuyos expedientes se custodian básicamente en el Archivo General Militar de Segovia, en su sección de Justicia.
