El iberismo en la prensa de Madrid, 1840-1874. Análisis cualitativo-discursivo del nacionalismo ibérico desde los textos periodísticos
Abstract
El iberismo es una corriente de pensamiento que aboga por la ayuda mutua y la intensificación de relaciones entre Portugal y España. En esta tesis se analizan los mensajes de temática iberista publicados en la prensa de Madrid entre 1840 y 1874. La metodología, basada en el análisis del discurso, es complementada con una perspectiva de análisis conceptual derivada de la Begriffsgeschichte (historia de los conceptos). Se comprueba que los proyectos de unión ibérica no fueron defendidos únicamente por el liberalismo progresista, sino que incluyeron amplios sectores republicanos, moderados e incluso conservadores-aristocráticos. Además, se estima que el iberismo, en su vertiente política, puede ser considerado como un nacionalismo ibérico, al plantear de manera consciente y planificada la creación de una sola entidad política en suelo peninsular.
