Media Coverage of Stem cell from the Perspective of Framing. El País and ABC (1996-2006)

This study presents the results obtained after analyze the main focus, format, type of stem cell source and frame, in 2.481 journalistic articles published in El País (1.497) and ABC (984) from 1996 to 2006. At the beginning of this decade, the stem cells starts to appear in Spanish press until, in 2006, it is pending of pass therapeutic cloning, research with frozen embryos or using stem cells for research and treatment in a Bill about Biomedical Research. This study is part of one wider, in process, about media coverage of stem cell research in Spanish daily printed press.
